The Ferrari 575 M Superamerica was an innovative convertible version of the 575 M Maranello; it featured an electrochromic glass panel roof which rotated 180° (both are production car firsts) at the rear to lay flat over the boot. The Superamerica used the higher-output tune of the V-12 engine, rated at 540 hp (403 kW) and Ferrari marketed it as the world’s fastest convertible, with a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h). The GTC handling package was optional.

A total of 559 Superamericas were built; this awkward number followed Enzo Ferrari’s philosophy that there should always be one fewer car available than what the market is demanding.

We have two SuperAmerica Ferrari’s :

The Mach 5, the car Speed Racer drove in the series, is a technological marvel, containing useful pieces of equipment. G? Mifune/Speed Racer easily deployed these gadgets by pressing buttons marked “A” through “G” on the steering wheel hub. This uniquely designed car, built on a sleek, white body has a large “M” on its hood, the logo for the family business, Mifune Motors. The two-seat car’s uniqueness also derives from its mostly red colored interior.

Pontiac GTO - Originally built by Pontiac from 1964 to 1974, and by General Motors Holden in Australia from 2004 to 2006. Tagged by many as the first true muscle car. From 1964 until midway through 1973 it was closely related to the Pontiac Tempest and for the 1974 model year it was based on the Pontiac Ventura. The 21st century GTO is essentially a left hand drive Holden Monaro, itself a coupe variant of the Holden Commodore.

In 1965, Pontiac, George Hurst, Jim Wangers “Godfather of the GTO,” with Petersen Publishing, organized a unique contest to promote the new Pontiac GTO and Hurst Performance Products.

The Grand Prize for the contest was a 1965 Pontiac GTO, equipped with over 28 factory options plus special gold Hurst mag wheels, a special Hurst Gold paint job, and a gold-plated Hurst Shifter, it was the ultimate ‘65 GTO - and the ultimate promotional vehicle for all involved.

As electric vehicle, it employs electric motors and motor controllers instead of internal combustion engines (ICEs).

Motors
Electric cars have traditionally used series wound DC motors, a form of Brushed DC electric motor. More recent electric vehicles have made use of a variety of AC motor types, as these are simpler to build and have no brushes that can wear out. These are usually Induction motors or Permanent Magnet AC motors. There are several variations of the permanent magnet motor which offer simpler drive schemes and / or lower cost including the Brushless DC Electric Motor.

Motor controllers
The motor controller regulates the power to the motor, supplying either variable pulse width DC or variable frequency variable amplitude AC, depending on the motor type, DC or AC.

Batteries
Valence Technology, manufacturers of lithium phosphate batteries used in electric vehicles

According to Wikipedia.

Zyll Enterprise, went out of business in March 1996 and was eventually purchased by Redbox International. Many of the old Zee Toys Pacesetters and Dynawheels castings are still available as Motormax models, in many cases with original model number still imprinted on the base, although only Pacesetters bear any description of the vehicle they represent.

Unknown because our current hosting company, VPSBYTE.COM won’t even answer our questions as to what really happen from September 23, 2008 until yesterday afternoon Sept. 24, 2008. VPSBYTE.COM acts as if nothing happen, their own sites vpsbyte.com, support.vpsbyte.com and dns servers was also down during those times until last night. When finally we were able to login to our server, we notice that our configuration has been change without any advanced notification, and because of these configration changes our site was down for nearly three days.

Because of this we were force to redirect our traffic to our backup server which were able serve a small portion of our visitors. As soon as everything goes back to normal we will start to look for a better hosting solution.

Again we deeply apologized for any inconvinience this may have cost you.

1970 Dodge Charger - The Fast and The Furious (TF&TF)
The 1970 Charger included a front bumper which completely encircled the grille and new full width tail lights. Also new far 1970 was the Federally mandated ignition switch buzzer to remind drivers not to leave their keys in the car.

Total Charger production for 1970 was 49,768 vehicles, of which 10,337 were Charger R/Ts. Volume was still very high compared with the 1966-67 models but just a bit over half of the 1968 peak. It should be noted, of course, that the Charger was very similar in design to several other Dodges, and was at heart a retuned, restyled Coronet; and that Plymouth had its own versions of the Charger and Daytona.

The standard Charger came with the 225 slant-six or 318 V8, neither of which was a barnstormer in the big car. The standard transmission was a three-on-the-tree manual. The interior had a vinyl bench seat, deep-pile carpet, three-spoke steering wheel with a separate horn ring, heater/defroster, cigarette lighter, self-adjusting brakes, fiberglass belted tires, heavy duty suspension (using torsion bars and a front sway bar), rear bumper guards, concealed headlights, and quick-fill gas cap. The parking brake was foot activated. http://www.allpar.com/model/charger.html

The Corvette C5, introduced in early 1997, and was the 1998 North American Car of the Year. It combines great performance and price.

Although there are a number of very good sports cars in the same price range as the Corvette, it doesn’t really have any direct competitors.

The similarly priced Mercedes-Benz SLK, BMW Z3 2.8, and Porsche Boxster are all delightful and competent players, but they play at a more modest pace. When it comes to real pavement-ripping prowess, none can match the Corvette’s sheer power and corner-gobbling grip.

The Dodge Viper does rival the Corvette’s dynamic capabilities–indeed, it’s even faster–but it requires a single-minded focus on brutish performance to enjoy it. When it comes to civilization and comfort, the Corvette wins hands-down.

To get a similar blend of comfort and true sports car performance, you’ll find yourself in a Porsche store looking at 911s, but the 911 cn’t compete with the Corvette’s price.

The Corvette is no longer this country’s only sports car, and it’s certainly evolved well beyond the realm of what we call affordable. But coupe, convertible or the new hardtop, there doesn’t seem to be much question that the latest generation of this all-American is also world-class.
