September 2, 2006

For newly bought rc cars / planes , don’t forget to fully charge the batteries before running the cars. Refer to the instruction manuals for specific charging times. Most batteries needs to be fully charge at least 16 hours initially before running your car.

Deep-discharge : It is a good idea to deep-discharge your rc battery pack at least every 1 to to months or 4 to 8 weeks. One way to deep discharge your battery pack is to use a battery pack charger / discharger. If you don’t have a battery discharger, you can keep your Remote Control car running until it stop, you can stand it upside down so the wheels will keep on running. After completely discharging your battery pack charge it as remmended in the instruction manual or at least 4 to 16 hours depending on the type of your battery.

Storing your battery : If you will store your battery pack for a long time, you can store your battery pack, in a charge state at least 50% charged.
